At Bridge Church, we believe that prayer is an integral part of our relationship with God. One of the most direct ways we can connect life to God is through talking to and listening to Him in prayer. Sometimes, in addition to our individual times of prayer, we could really use personal prayer ministry – to have others pray for us and bring a fresh word from the Lord. Our Specialized Prayer Ministry is for anyone who needs to hear more clearly from God.

Working in groups of three, the Specialized Prayer team spends about an hour with someone requesting prayer. They begin by asking a few questions to understand the nature of the need and then ask God what He wants to do and speak in the person’s life. Team members then pray the things the Holy Spirit reveals to them. Diane Rossello, the ministry’s leader, reports, “Everyone we have had the honor of praying with has reported new life in some way through connecting with God. He never fails.”

The Specialized Prayer Ministry is based on Hebrews 11:6: “And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” So, the requirements to participate, explains Diane, are to “believe He exists, have a need, and be willing to ask God for help… Then sit back and see how faithful He is.” If you are interested in receiving ministry from the Specialized Prayer team, please leave a message for Diane by calling or emailing our church office.

The ministry’s vision, clearly grounded in the church’s vision of “connecting life to God,” is two-fold, describes Diane. “First, that Specialized Prayer will be one of the tools the Lord uses to change people into His image, both inside and outside of our church. Second, that everyone changed can see more clearly what the Father is doing and actively partner with Him.” Personally, she would love to have everyone who calls Bridge Church their home experience personal ministry through Specialized Prayer. “At least once,” she says, “even if there are no obvious pressing needs. Who couldn’t use a fresh word from the Lord?”

Above all, Diane stresses, “My heart and fervent prayer is that this ministry will please God.”

When asked why she loves Bridge Church, Diane replied: “So many reasons: The worship, sermons, and interactions with everyone here energize and renew me weekly. The preaching and teaching challenge me to become more like Christ in ways I never thought possible. The vision of our church to miraculously change Annapolis by connecting lives to God inspires me. I want to lock arms with everyone to do the impossible. Jesus Christ is exalted at Bridge Church, and with Him all things are possible!”
